Do you feel that your library could do more to help people in recovery from substance abuse? Is your library an innovator in these domains? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">May 15 and 16, 2025, the Kansas City Public Library hosted a two-day national forum that brought together library staff and experts working in the interdisciplinary recovery field. <a href=\"https:\/\/lacl.missouri.edu\/index.php\/preliminary-schedule\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"721\">The forum<\/a> included five thematic units:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lacl.missouri.edu\/index.php\/content-of-sessions\/\">Addiction and Recovery through the lens of harm reduction<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lacl.missouri.edu\/index.php\/content-of-sessions\/\">The Promise and the Shortfall of Bibliotherapy and the Power of Human Connection<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lacl.missouri.edu\/index.php\/content-of-sessions\/\">Using Library Collections and Reading Groups to Foster Connection<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lacl.missouri.edu\/index.php\/content-of-sessions\/\">Outreach and Marketing SUD\/AUD programs to different demographic groups<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lacl.missouri.edu\/index.php\/content-of-sessions\/\">Libraries and Social Connections<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each unit was kicked off by an expert <a href=\"https:\/\/lacl.missouri.edu\/index.php\/schedule-and-speakers\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"144\">speaker<\/a> followed by facilitated small-group discussions and brainstorming sessions.
